Best study of the "Treasure Fleet" voyages by a wide margin
By W. D ONEIL
The table of contents, which I've reproduced at the end of this, gives a good idea of the book's coverage and organization. Dreyer is a professor of history at the University of Miami, where he teaches Asian history, Chinese history, and military history. His previous publications include studies of early Ming political history (based on his 1971 Harvard dissertation) and China's experience of war in the first half of the 20th century.

The author surveys the secondary literature and draws upon some earlier reconstructions which he finds credible and consistent, particularly in the matter of the voyages' itineraries. However, he relies on the primary sources (and a smattering of archeological evidence) in every respect. Indeed, at the end of the book he provides his own critical translations of the key primary sources.

He works through the background and issues in a methodical manner, carefully evaluating the evidence in light of his extensive knowledge of early Ming history. Naturally this does not make exciting beach reading, but Dreyer does a good job of making the exposition clear and straightforward. The glossary provides brief entries for all of the places and people mentioned, in the event one loses track.

The only lapses I could see seem to be in his knowledge of European history, where he repeats a few obsolete views: "[W]hat drew the Western powers into the Indian Ocean and Southeast Asia in the first place was the wealth they could gain by controlling the seaborne trade of the region." (p. 8) "[B]roadside firing and line ahead tactics ... only began in European waters almost two centuries after Zheng He." (p. 56) These are minor issues of degree that do not materially affect the value of the book.

One very welcome surprise is Dreyer's judicious and well-informed evaluation of the design of the ships of the Treasure Fleets.

Dreyer does not address the speculations and assertions of Gavin Menzies regarding far-flung voyaging, except to remark dryly on pages 29-30 that they rest on an assumption that exploration was a major purpose of the voyages (an assumption Dreyer demolishes quite thoroughly) and on pages 182-3 that it is very unlikely that the ships could have gotten far along Menzies' track before coming to grief. Surely the Chinese, with their nautical knowledge and skills, would have gone about exploration in a very different manner, had they had the intent.

Throughout, the author is skeptical in the best sense, carefully examining and weighing the evidence on each point, unswayed by preconceptions. This leads him to many conclusions that diverge from those of previous authors, always convincingly. Unless and until new evidence appears (possibly from marine archeology) this is likely to remain the definitive treatment of this interesting and revealing facet of Chinese history.

One of the best services Dreyer performs is to cut through the layers of projection and romance that have been overlaid on these voyages in respect of their purpose, conduct, and consequences. He insists, with strong documentary support, that the purpose was "to enforce outward compliance with the forms of the Chinese tributary system by the show of an overwhelming armed force" [p. 163, and passim] as a means of bolstering the Yongle emperor's political position and perhaps self-esteem. Dreyer scotches the notion that these were voyages of discovery or exploration in the European sense, adventurous though they were in their own terms. He makes clear their astronomical expense and how they contributed to economic pressures on the empire, and stresses that there were very real practical reasons (in addition to the undoubted cultural and political ones) for the opposition to them expressed by many senior scholar-bureaucrats. And he shows that far from being peaceful and amicable diplomatic missions they involved heavy measures of coercive force. It certainly lay within China's power to have constructed an Asian maritime empire much as the Europeans later did, but not within China's powers of conception. It equally was open to the Chinese to have gone exploring at least as widely was the Europeans were to, but that also was unthinkable in Beijing. And no one in China could do such things without imperial command.

The book is modestly but well produced, with good binding and stock. There is one overall map, a diagram showing Dreyer's concept of the design of a "treasure ship," and a few relevant illustrations. Oddly the house style seems to eschew source notes, but it is usually possible to identify sources in the general notes at the back of the book. Overall, the publishers deserve thanks for a valuable and high-quality monograph issued at a reasonable price.

Found it excellent
By Peter Huston
First, although I have studied much of Chinese history, I claim no particular expertise in the Ming Dynasty or the history of Zheng He's voyages. However, I've been looking for a source to fix that for sometime and therefore read and liked this book. The author does a good job of sticking to the evidence and weighing the sources of evidence carefully. He makes a strong attempt to put the voyages, as well as the cessation of the voyages, and their motivations in historical context and argues things well. At one point, for instance, while trying to discuss the size of Zheng He's largest ships he carefully considers the sorts of ships that could and could not travel the river routes in China that the fleet traveled to get from Nanjing to the ocean. Although he concludes the largest ships were possibly the largest wooden vessels ever constructed, he also concludes that they were probably not nearly as large as some have claimed and not capable of some of the more fanciful sailing through hazardous areas that some authors have credited them with. One thing that surprised me about this work is how much about these voyages and their routes are actually known, particularly when some authors have claimed our lack of knowledge about them allows for extremely fanciful claims about their routes and accomplishments. All in all, although I have not studied these voyages in depth, I found this to be a good place to start if one wishes an account that carefully weighs what is and is not known about these voyages.

A good study of the treasure fleet and the man who led it
By MarkK
In the early 15th century, the coastal states of Southeast Asia and the Indian Ocean were the sites of a remarkable event, as they received repeated visitations by a large fleet of Chinese ships. Dispatched by the order of the Ming emperor Yongle, they consisted of thousands of men on board the largest wooden ships ever built. The expeditions were all commanded by Zheng He, a eunuch with a long history of service to the emperor. Yet in spite of the dramatic novelty of the voyages, they and their commander received only the scantiest attention in the Chinese historical sources, with many of their exploits becoming as much myth as reality. In this book, Edward Dreyer attempts to uncover the man behind the myths, assessing his goals and achievements by evaluating them in the context of his times.

To do this, Dreyer reconstructs Zheng's life as completely as possible from the available contemporary and near-contemporary sources. This provides at best only a sketchy outline, which the author then fills in with a broader analysis of the voyage, the ships and men involved, and the broader background of events. He argues that, contrary to later writers, Zheng's expeditions were not voyages of exploration or assertions of naval hegemony but an effort to extend the Chinese tributary system to that part of the world. Though far less inspiring a motivation than the others, it is one that helps to explain the subsequent abandonment of the effort after a final voyage in 1431-33, as the returns were far outweighed by the considerable expense of the effort - a factor that became critical during a time of enormous expenditure on military expeditions to Mongolia and construction of a new imperial capital in Beijing.

Though thin in some areas and repetitive of its major points, Dreyer has succeeded in writing a clear and accessible study of a legendary figure. Though it, readers can better understand both the scope of his achievement and why it was not followed up by Yongle's successors. For anyone seeking to understand the early Ming dynasty or why a tantalizing opportunity was never fully exploited, Dreyer's clear, thoroughly researched, and well-argued study is an excellent place to begin.

Paisa vasool
By B.Sudhakar Shenoy
During the last decade, several books have been written on the great economic potential of China and India, projecting them to be the engines of global economic growth of the twenty first century. Their huge population and a very low base of per capita income were indeed considered to be the very basis that would unleash unprecedented demand for all goods and services, to meet the needs of billions, thanks to the forces of global economic convergence.

While China opened up in 1979, India did so in 1991, and since then both these countries are marching ahead at great speed, in economic terms, compared to the rest of the globe. Global companies that had largely ignored these markets, suddenly realise that they need these markets very badly, not just for growth, but sometimes for their very existence in the transformed global market and value chain in the coming decades.

This book is an excellent work by BCG Consultants, based on in-depth research, feet on the ground approach to estimate the market size for goods and services in China and India in the current decade. As the title aptly says, the annual opportunity is $10 Trillion, by 2020. While China would account for $ 6.2 Trillion, India would be about $ 3.6 Trillion. Cumulatively it would exceed $ 60 Trillion for the decade.

To put this in perspective and to understand the opportunity, the lifetime consumption of a child born in India in 2009 would be 13 times that of his elder citizen born in 1960. This figure for China is a whopping 38 x.

The authors have done insightful analysis and excellent presentation of market segmentation based on per capita incomes of the super-rich, the growing middle class, the bottom poor, demographics, urban-rural consumption patterns, aspiration and key drivers that shape buying behaviour and the resultant demand.

Product sector analysis of how this huge demand would spread across different industry verticals - Food, Housing, Transport, Communication, Health care, Clothing etc., are discussed in detail.

The best part of the book is the finding and presentation that these countries need a very different kind of mind-set and business strategy to succeed. This means that mere replication of products and processes in the developed world are simply prescriptions for failure, for global giants in China and India. These countries need products that are ultra-low cost and multi functionality (called "paisa vasool" in India), innovative business processes and a frugal mind set. While western MNCs have highly advanced technologies and deep pockets and vast experience, reliance on their successful strategies in the West would be their proverbial Achilles heel in China and India.

Local competitors are Ambitious, Aggressive, Audacious and Adaptive to the hilt. These companies for example talk of 10x10, which means 10 times growth in 10 years, which might sound highly impossible and probably lunatic in the developed West. They have an Accelerator mind-set, and are PHD's (Poor, Hungry and Driven).

Scores of examples on strategies and case studies of successful local business giants as well as some western MNCs that have got the recipe right, is a reader's delight.

More than just the data on opportunity, this book presents the DNA for success in China and India.

To me, this book is absolute "Paisa Vasool", worth every penny, sorry, every paisa, since a penny can buy 55 paise at today's exchange rates in India. Penny is expensive in India. For real value, forget the penny and focus on every paisa. This concept is at the crux of this book.

In addition, I recommend the following books as essential reading to succeed in India.

1. " Reverse Innovation" by Vijay Govindarajan and Chris Trimble
2. "Getting China and India Right" by Anil K Gupta and Haiyan Wang,
3. "India Inside" by Nirmalya Kumar and Phanish Puranam

Outstanding work.

Interesting Read
By marksgill
The $10 Trillion Prize is clearly bullish on China and India, but the optimism is not unfounded. The authors present a wealth of data to back up their assertions about the growth potential of these two consumer markets. On top of that, there are numerous and colorful anecdotes, like the one about a woman farmer in China who built a new house with a two-car garage even though she didn't own a car yet. Just goes to show the ambitions and anticipated purchasing power of the rising middle class in these countries. Well worth a read.

A must read to help you truly understand the rising Chines and Indian consumer and how to win their hearts and minds. The first book I've read on the subject that delves deep into the motivations, wants and needs of the rising middle class in those countries. Good Grief 1 Learning from the Best
You know that famous book All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten? It’s about simple yet life-changing advice that the author remembers from his childhood, like “don’t hit people,” “share everything,” and of course, “flush.” I mention the book here because its premise reminds me of how I’ve come to deliver simple yet life-changing messages to my clients—except all I really need to know I learned from channeling God and your loved ones’ souls! They’re the most amazing teachers and have taught me so much about grief that can help you embrace life after a loved one passes.

I feel it’s important to credit God and Spirit right off the bat, because it helps explain why I say and recommend what I do. I’m not a therapist or bereavement counselor, and there’s probably some etiquette about handling grief that I’ve never been taught. As a medium, however, my duty is to tell you what Spirit feels will help you carry on without your late aunt, child, or spouse, and this can be very different from what a trained grief counselor might suggest. For example, Spirit needs you to know there’s more to life than what’s here in the physical world, and that your loved ones are still with you, just in a different way. Now, that’s not something most books about grief would drive home, fair enough? Yet this and other guiding principles from Spirit are what truly help my clients repair and rebuild their lives.

And while Spirit and I have helped bring hundreds of thousands of clients peace during their grief process, I don’t have a ton of heavy, personal experience with this topic in my own life. It’s kind of crazy—the first time I lost a close loved one was when my Nanny Brigandi passed away; I was sixteen years old at the time, and then seven years later, her husband, my Pop, died. It was really hard to lose my father’s parents. But after that, life gave me a major sabbatical from grief. For almost twenty years I didn’t experience a death-related heartache again. What did happen, however, was that I accepted and honed my ability to communicate with all kinds of souls in Heaven, including God, angels, spirit guides, and your departed loved ones who’ve taught me everything I know. In other words, I learned about healing through the universe’s lens, not my own. I was never distracted by my own drama and was forced to stay focused on Spirit’s messages. Having nearly two decades of constant, objective, spiritual training was part of God’s plan for me—and clearly for you too.
Getting the Gist of Grief
Since the beginning of my career, I’ve channeled a theme that runs throughout all of Spirit’s messages: “You will grieve your loss for the rest of your life, but healing is something different.” What Spirit means here is that you must find ways for your grief and healing to coexist, because no matter how a person dies, you will always have to live without someone you love and that sucks. I think one of the scariest things about death is that it introduces you to ugly emotions you’ve never felt before—devastation, jealousy, fear, betrayal, abandonment—and they hit you like a ton of bricks. To experience a death that’s so close to you might even force you to confront your own mortality for the first time. Grief is especially hard because it’s not every day that a situation demands you walk the line between feeling your heaviest feelings so you can heal and trying to protect yourself from getting stuck in a negative place. So instead of doing what’s best from the start—processing the loss, honoring your loved one, and carrying on in a positive way—you may end up on a dark and twisted path even when you crave light, direction, and calm.

What I love about Spirit’s guidance is that their goal is to help heal your soul. From there, they say, everything else will fall into place. For soulful healing to occur, you must realize that your loved ones give you permission to feel the pain, but also ask that you learn and grow from it. They explain that God and your loved ones want you to be happy. As you begin to internalize this, you see the importance of loving yourself and others, functioning with a positive outlook, and staying busy at a pace that feels good. This makes it easier to appreciate the signs your loved ones send and value the rapport you still share, since you trust that the soul bond is never broken. Having an ongoing relationship with the departed then makes it easier to value the living. You increasingly feel supported by souls on this plane and on the Other Side as you figure out your new normal. Grief gradually begins to define less of your day, because while death can be a painful reality for the living, you realize that your loved ones are at peace and their passing was never meant to stop your journey outright. You shed anger and practice forgiveness, and eventually you are able to appreciate the universe’s big picture: that everyone’s soul is created from God’s perfect love, and our purpose is to use that love to enrich your life and that of others.

At first, healing is about surviving heartache; in time, it’s about feeling joy despite it.

Listen, I’m not saying that any of this is easy. In fact, Spirit says healing from grief is one of the hardest obstacles we face on earth, but it’s important work that we must all do in this lifetime. Try as you might, nobody escapes this lesson—grief transcends cultures, social classes, education, genetics, and more—because navigating grief is essential to maturing every one of our souls. We gain new understanding, acceptance, compassion, and a better ability to communicate with the Other Side when we grieve. We are here on earth to learn and grow, and unfortunately grief is a means to that end. It is a rite of passage for the soul.
Practicing What I Preach
A few years ago, I was finally able to apply Spirit’s teachings to my own grief process. I should have known Spirit wouldn’t let me off the hook for too long! While my maternal grandmother, Gram, was the first person to pass after my little grief hiatus, it was actually her husband’s death that had the potential to emotionally wreck me if I hadn’t taken Spirit’s advice into consideration.

When my mom called to tell me that my grandfather, who we called Gramps, wasn’t doing well, I rushed to the hospital for a visit. I was in the middle of taping my TLC show Long Island Medium, and even in four-inch heels, I got there pretty fast! Right away, I felt Gram’s soul in the room and knew she was there to help him cross over. I said to Gramps, “It’s OK to go with Gram now.” He was weak and lethargic that day, but managed to shake his head no. Gramps was always stubborn, so I don’t know why I thought his passing might be any different! And though the next day Gramps was strong as an ox—sitting up, eating well—his burst of energy didn’t last. The following morning Gramps died. I did not get to say a final good-bye to my grandfather, who passed from complications from end-stage renal disease.

Now, somebody else in my sparkly shoes might have felt haunted by Gramps’s death—maybe upset about not visiting when he was at his best or regretful about not being with him when he died—but because I’d learned about grief for all those years, I was better able to cope. For one, I knew that our loved ones never want us to feel any burdens, guilt, or regrets around their passing. So instead of getting upset that I didn’t get to see Gramps full of piss and vinegar, I thanked God that our final visit was as good as it could be that day. And while I wasn’t with him when he passed, I also remembered that if Spirit says you’re not in the room at the time of a death, that soul did not want to leave you with the burden of seeing its body take its last breath. I believe this is the case with Gramps.

I’ve also followed Spirit’s advice in how I celebrate and remember Gramps to this day. I try to stay positive for the rest of the family, since this is what Gramps would have wanted, and regularly honor his memory. I’m quick to talk about how playful yet ornery Gramps could be, and every time I order his favorite split pea soup at the local luncheonette, I think of him and know his soul is with me as I do. When I miss Gramps, I remind myself that Spirit says, “The only thing that’s been broken is our physical connection. Our soul bond will never end,” and I know from channeling Spirit that I will see Gramps again when he greets my soul in Heaven. Until then, Gramps wants me to live in a way that makes me feel happy and spreads positivity to others. I grieve Gramps every day, but doing this under Spirit’s wing has helped me acknowledge his passing and feel appreciative of all we shared during this lifetime.

I’m not meant to be the only one who absorbs and practices Spirit’s healing lessons! God and your loved ones want this for you too. And while Spirit says our destiny is set, our freewill choices are what fill in the details of our lives. How you recover from loss is one such decision, and it impacts the strength of your eternal soul. Look, I know it’s broken into a million pieces right now. But it would be an honor and a privilege if you allowed me and Spirit to help you put it back together. What do you say?

Excellent read for those who are and will be in grieving.
By Amazon Customer
This is a very good read for those who have lost a loved one and is going through grieving process. This is also good for folks that does not know how to help someone that is grieving.
I've also read the other book "There's More to Life Than This: Healing Messages, Remarkable Stories, and Insight About the Other Side from the Long Island Medium" so there's not much new materials here. But it did help me to start praying to God again.
I've recently lost my first dog BeBe and had a grieving period and realized I've actually went through what Theresa had written. I know losing a dog is not the same as losing a person, but I see BeBe as my daughter and treated her as such.
After reading both books, I have so much questions that I would like to know. Perhaps Theresa's next book should be a Q&A. Let readers send in their questions and have her publish an answer book :-)

Learn to grieve and move on
By BettyBoop
I have bought and read Theresa's two previous books. Although this repeats some of the information in those books, it is still a very good read, especially if one is grieving for family or friends who have passed. I always wondered about Heaven, and there are some peeks of the Other Side. Very comforting.

Why Iceland?: How One of the World's Smallest Countries Became the Meltdown's Biggest Casualty, by Asgeir Jonsson

As late as the mid 1980s, Iceland’s economy revolved around little else than a semi-robust cod-fishing industry. By the end of the century, however, it had transformed itself into a major player in world finance, building an international banking empire worth twelve times its GDP. The tiny island nation of 300,000 was one of the global economy’s great success stories.

And then everything came crashing down.

Why Iceland? is the inside account of one of the economic meltdown’s most fascinating and far-reaching tragedies. As Chief Economist of Kaupthing Bank, the country’s largest bank before the collapse, sgeir Jnsson is perfectly suited to examine Iceland’s collapse in painstaking detail. He witnessed behind-the-scenes events firsthand, such as an intriguing meeting in January 2008 when a group of international hedge fund managers gathered in a bar in Reykjavik to discuss Iceland’s economy—an informal affair that eventually became the center of a criminal investigation by the country’s Financial Supervisory Authority.

This inside account examines the pressing issues behind history’s biggest banking collapse:

  • How did Iceland transform itself from one of Europe’s poorest to one of its wealthiest countries?
  • What happened to cause the destruction of the nation’s banking industry during a single week of October 2008?
  • Was it the result of a speculation “attack” by hedge funds on the nation’s currency?

Iceland remains the biggest casualty of the economic downturn, and the ramifications of its catastrophic failure reach deeply into the economies of Europe, the United States, and other global markets. sgeir Jnsson offers a unique perspective and an expert’s insight into the rise and fall of this once-proud banking giant.

Why Iceland? provides the who, what, where, and when of Iceland’s demise, serving as a fascinating read and providing the understanding necessary for forecasting when and where the aftershocks will shake up markets in other parts of the world.

"Fearsome Vikings discovered Iceland. Hedge funds knocked it down. It was a humiliating tumble for the former financial powerhouse, which was proud of its status in Europe. A late bloomer, Iceland had been the last country in Europe to be settled, the Nordic nation rapidly caught up with its wealthier relations. It was all fine until October 2008, when country's banking system collapsed in a week. Written by an Icelandic economist, Why Iceland? chronicles the meltdown, in the context of the nation's history."--New York Post (A "Required Reading" Selection)

"A provocative, urgently important case study in international finance." The New York Times 20090816

From the Back Cover

The Saga of an Empire that Disappeared Overnight

In October 2008, Iceland became the unlikely epicenter of the catastrophic global banking collapse. In a few short years the tiny nation on the periphery of Europe had built a banking empire to rival any other on the planet. Then, within a single week in October 2008, the entire country collapsed. Investors in the UK alone are believed to have lost 8 billion in the fallout. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Effects of the crisis continue to manifest themselves around the globe.

Why Iceland? provides the most thorough and insightful account to date of history’s greatest banking collapse. Written by Icelandic banking insider sgeir Jnsson, this behind-the-scenes book covers:

  • Iceland’s remarkable rise as a global financial powerhouse
  • Events leading to its overnight collapse
  • The critical roles played by the US and UK future effects on the global economy

As Iceland’s banking industry attempts to rebuild itself, with help from the IMF, the world’s markets brace themselves against as-yet unknown impacts sure to result from the collapse. Why Iceland? combines the drama of a potboiler novel with expert analysis from a world authority on the subject.

About the Author

A true Icelandic saga
By Bubba
This wonderfully written story of Iceland--historical and contemporary--is a saga in the true sense of the word. It is an epic tale of single-mindedness and stubbornness that led to a disaster that continues into 2010. Jonsson is an astute observer--both of Icelandic economics and Icelandic culture. He neatly weaves economic and and financial developments over the past decade into 1000 years of history to give context to Iceland's meltdown.

By tracing the roots of Iceland's downfall to its deeply entrenched traditions, Jonsson's is also a tale of other countries hit by the current financial crisis and recession. Greed, hubris, resistance to regulation, asymmetric risk-taking, bubbles are all characteristics of Iceland and the United States. By learning about Iceland, we learn about the world financial system.

The book is written at a level appropriate for any reader--expert or not. I recommend it heartily, to be read side-by-side with Reinhart and Rogoff's equally compelling history of banking crises. While Reinhart and Rogoff offer broader coverage of crises, Jonsson provides a deeper analysis of a single crisis, firmly establishing its roots.

Watching a meltdown from the front row.
By Alexander D. Oxenham
This is an excellent account of the Icelandic financial disaster as written by the Chief Economist of the leading "at the time" Icelandic Bank, Kaupthing. I was on the edge of my seat, astonished that I could get these "front row" details from a senior member of the bank who understand macro economic concepts and how they led to the downfall of the firm he obviously loved. I was intrigued at the conclusions that were drawn but ultimately saddened by the cold shoulder so many supposedly "friendly" countries offered during Iceland's fall from grace. The overall lack of expertise within the central bank of Iceland is clearly the leading cause of this severe depression. The central bank ignored countless signs and relied too much on "Hope" to solve its problems. Although we know how it ends I kept hoping it would end differently for Iceland's sake.

Great book. Let's hope Iceland remains the only country to experience this severe of a collapse.

The canary in the coal mine?
By Arthur Digbee
Iceland was the first victim of the global banking crisis of 2008, when its heavily-leveraged international banks all collapsed--taking down many British savers as well as inflicting a major blow to the home economy.

Jonsson tells the story of the crisis, beginning with a brief history of Icelandic banking and then moving to a blow-by-blow account of events. He gives us capsule summaries of various businesses and their highly-leveraged adventures, with lots of factual detail but often insufficient analysis. Charts of companies, subsidiaries, name changes, and principals would have been nice, as would time lines of bank failures, interventions, and legislation. There information is here, but visual references would also be helpful.

Events make it clear that there is plenty of blame to go around - Icelandic entrepreneurs, state banks, regulators, and politicians; foreign politicians and bank regulators, especially in the UK; and international financial institutions.

With all the market failures and institutional failings, it's surprising that Jonsson attributes many problems to Icelandic culture, starting his story of the banking crisis with Iceland's conversion to Christianity in the year 1000. The flip side of this overemphasis on culture is a relative inattention to Icelandic politics. Sure, David Oddsson was a key player in establishing the free-market policies of the 1990s, and as a governor of the Central Bank, making a mess of the crisis response. However, Iceland has coalition governments and most of the other parties and players are invisible in this account.

Finally, I'm struck by how many of the underlying factors are also found in other countries, and have not been addressed by reforms after 2008. He concludes that Iceland may be the canary in the coal mine. Readers concerned about the future of the international banking and finance sector will find much here to lose sleep over.

About the Author
Emma Hillmannever plans her stories. She just lets the characters have fun and hopes theending will make sense. It usually does.

Her first book,Location, Location, Location(eXcessica, August 2009), garnered a 5-star Top Pick review from Night OwlReviews, who said it "was a memorable, remarkable and phenomenally scorchingread."

Besides being amulti-published author of erotica and romance, she works full-time and lives inParis with a(nice) husband, a (cute) little girl, and two sweet but (very) loud pets. Shealso reads far too much as the postman (and her banker) could attest, butshhhh.

Hated it!
By Eureka
I hate dthis book. The story was silly. The hero and heroine were immature people who couldn't admit their attraction for one another, so the hero deceptively convinces the heroine to have sex with him. The sex is so bland and one-sided. I had no respect for the heroine. The continue to have sex, and then, it magically spirals into a relationship. Stupid story, stupid waste of money!
