The positives: covers most areas of exam and does a great job goings through the assessment of patient aspect of the exam and discusses behavior change models in detail.

The negatives: too basic on medications, insulin adjustments, and Ada and aace guideline recommendations basically not present

Overall I probably would not recommend the book

This book was absolutely the WORST study guide for the CDE exam I have ever seen. The grammar is incorrect and MULTIPLE questions in the "practice test" are incorrectly worded with incorrect answers. This was a TOTAL waste of money and I am in the process of trying to get a refund. DO NOT BUY unless you absolutely do not want to pass the certification exam!!

Prof. C. Sujatha is with the Machine Design Section, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, Chennai, India. She obtained her B.Sc. (Engg.) from Kerala University, and both M.S. (Electrical Engineering) and Ph.D. (Applied Mechanics) from IIT Madras. She has more than 25 years of experience in teaching, research and consultancy in the areas of machine dynamics, vehicular vibration, acoustics, instrumentation and signal analysis machinery condition monitoring, etc. She is credited with around 100 publications in journals and proceedings of conferences and has guided 7 Ph.D. scholars. She has coordinated a large number of consultancy and sponsored research projects.

Great book!

Robert Herd did a wonderful job in presenting key elements of the esoteric/spiritual tradition and showing how they relate to different movements- Freemasonry in particular, with some Rosicrucian and Templar connections. This would be a great introductory book for any Freemason who seeks to understand how the philosophical sciences have been passed down over the millenniums to the current system that is worked today. He provided a great summary of different traditions throughout history. It would make a great companion book to Timothy Hogan's Entering the Chain of Union. I particularly liked his exploration of the life of Pythagoras, and he showed very well that there is evidence of ancient Egyptian initiation practices and that the philosophical thought from that time was passed down. This is a great book which should be studied by any Master Mason hoping to understand the origins of the initiatic tradition which they inherited! I will be recommending it to my lodge and anyone else who is interested in the mysteries!

This is an extremely well written and easy to read book! The holistic perspective offered allows the reader to make connections that perhaps even the author had not made. Though the complexity of the topic is high, the author has done an amazing job writing in a style that speaks to even the most basic reader. I would recommend this book to any who seek more Light in Masonry and to those seeking to understand what Masonry is and where it (potentially) came from! Well done WB Herd!

I just finished reading "The Initiatic Experience." Bravo, Robert Herd! I believe Brother Herd has done considerable justice to the body of Masonic literature, and provided a modern and very approachable understanding of the origins, history, and purpose of the transmission of light in regards to Masonic Initiation.

I've read countless books on the topic, but this is the first I've read that really gets to the root of the purpose of initiation, as it relates to the meaning of bringing a candidate from darkness to light in a spiritual sense. I also very much appreciated the inclusion of the role of the Initiators, and the critical aspect they play in energy transmission to the candidate.

I hope to see more books of this quality from this author!

A lot of useful information for an amazing price. These authors break down the process of creating a clear, effective argument with relatable examples and plenty of explanation. Awesome book for first-year writing, or really any kind of writing. Will definitely recommend for my students.

This book was part of a Undergrad English course and I found the pace we read the book was fast and I thought this book was useful enough to go back and reread. My other professors let me know my writing became stronger because at the heart of any writing you should have purpose and SO WHAT? breaks writing down the heart of the matter. Also like the cover its very eye catching. I did want to continue reading more from this author, and more then likely will in the future.

A soulful side to woodcarving and the steps/tools needed... Less is always more!

Joshua thoughtfully details all the parts, steps, and tools needed to create wooden spoons (and with imagination other things too). Its less of a step by step book and more of a great understanding to inspire you to actually get up and do something! Beautiful photographs and just a lovely read all around. If you have any desire to start this hobby I highly recommend this book as a great starting point. All you need is this book, youtube, and some very fun hand tools to work with.

Terrific book for beginners in spoon-making

This book is sectioned so that several disciplines of spoon carving/spoon making are presented in considerable detail along with excellent photos. It illustrates the old axe and hand-carved knife method, the frame saw and striking or palm chisel method and the bandsaw, burr and sanding method. Excellent! Tools and techniques are presented for each method. I particularly respect the fact that the author does not take an authoritarian approach toward explaining the craft but rather a common sense one. He integrates artistry with practicality and safety and stresses that whatever method one chooses, the spoon, once finished, should not be fussed or fretted over in an endless quest for perfection but rather considered done at some point and presented as an expression of one's own handiwork and caring.

So there's no recommended method as it comes down to choosing the one that's most comfortable, the degree of skill, the amount of effort one desires to impart, the type of wood and whatever tools are available and affordable. Naturally, the greater the desire one has for individual artistic expression, the more involved and precise the craft becomes. Or, as the author suggests, a person can also just enjoy the craft and get great personal satisfaction from giving the resulting spoons to family and friends as true gifts from the heart.

A really inspiring read/ look though. It will make you appreciate the art of spoon making. Yeah, they convinced me, it's an art. I wanted to try woodworking for the first time and thought something small like a spoon would work. This book will tell you how to make a spoon from start to finish, including all the tools required, with recommendations. It was too ambitious for me as a newbie to woodworking, but I will hold onto it to revisit when I have some more experience.

Good value and lots of information

This probably the best book (127 pp) on router tables and their use that I have come across. One of the best features are the numerous pictures to illustrate the various tips and methods of doing things. About 1/4 (47PP) is devoted to setting up and basic use of the table. The rest of the book contains tips and methods using different bits to cut profiles, various joints, using templates and frame and panel basics. Unlike many other books it does not waste any pages by reviewing various routers or router tables, instead it focuses on tips for using the router table different set-ups.

COMPREHENSIVE -- SELECTION AND USE OF ROUTER TABLES

I got this book thinking I would build my own router table. Hylton offered a whole lot of alternatives, with explanations of the applications, benefits, and limitations of each. Because I have so little room in the tiny shed I pretend is my "shop," I saw that I couldn't possibly use some of the larger tables, even if some had given me one. Furthermore, I knew I might want to take my router table to our apartments to use there. So the table had to be sort of portable.
Years ago I had used a less powerful router, with 1/4" collet, under an inexpensive Craftsman table. It was fine for the work I needed to do. But I wanted to use more of the router's capability, and I had a powerful tradesman's Porter-Cable router. So I wanted a good table.
I loved reading about the various tables; and the color illustrations and photos couldn't be beat for clarity and interest. So, after studying Hylton's book, and after reading recommendations on various commercially avaible tables, I bought a Bosch router table. I got it barely used for just $100, and the fellow threw in a set of 19 1/2" bits.

How has Hylton's book benefited me? Why five stars? I had not anticipated how comprehensive this book is. The huge majority of the book is devoted to how to use the table-mounted router: what you can do, and how to do it. THIS MAKES THE BOOK MORE THAN WORTHWHILE.
Any other benefits? First, it's great fun to read, and then to browse again and again. Second, the information in this book actually enabled me to purchase the Bosch table with the assurance that it would be right for me. Tird, Hylton shows how to set up and adjust the table -- which I did with the Bosch. Finally, Hylton showed the necessity of having a way to get rid of dust and chips -- which I had not thought of.

The book is designed to be used in a shop. It is sturdy, the print is fairly large, and the headings are in bold type (This may seem irrelevant as you read this on your computer; but when you are in the shop, constantly switching your attention between the book and the project you are working on, you'll appreciate it.)

If Hylton's "Ultimate Guide to the Router Table" has a weakness, it is that it presents no plans for any tables, just a few photos of various tables. But a good woodworker can buils the tables just by lookinf at the photos. And if he had wanted to include plans, which plaans would he have selected? Get a plan elsewhere

The only book dedicated to the Router Table

Update: Just received the printed paperback, what a difference 4 pictures to every page really explains what Bill Hylton is trying to say in the text. I do not recommend Kindle for this book.

I just bought the book version. Kindle is great, but the book is much more useful as a paperback. I have a few books on routers and Hyltons book is the only one dedicated to routers tables. There are some reviews that said it is only good for building a table. Obviously they did not actually read the book.

Bill Hylton is an expert on Routers. This covers almost every phase of routers. Great book

Amazing

perhaps the most beutifully drawn comic I have ever seen, the best also out of the three ranxerox books. Beyond its illustration the book is also teeming with some of the most pervese people imaginable, its simple lack of any kind of moral sence makes it worth having. (as a warning the newer copies of this comic, those published in america, have been censored and the paper was glossed over. So if you do intend to get this book get the original version the new one is worth squat.)
