Serves its purpose!

I wad told that this book was more of a textbook for technical minds who work with motion capture systems first hand. Motion capture is a very strong subject at the company I work for. I had a general understanding of the technology, but I still felt that I was missing a certain level of understanding. I researched the subject on the Internet and couldn't find the results I was looking for, it seems that good information on motion capture is very limited. I picked up a copy of this book and I was very surprised. It is an easy read, I did not have to review the material several times to understand. The last 2 chapters were too technical for my understanding, but the knowledge I gained from the rest of the book is priceless. It's great to see the development of the industry, and all the diffrent technologies that exsist for motion capture. This industry will be exploding very soon so I suggest you pick this one up.

Take notes as you read! I found myself referring back to the book on several occasions.

Nice Motion Capture Textbook

Firstly, I have to say, I liked the graphics in the textbook. The other reviewer didn't but I found them to be pretty helpful -- they're cartoon-like and look like they're from the 70s.

My only grief was the size of the book for the cost mentioned. The primer takes up a good chunk of that along with some data tables, etc. Nothing horrid just think when I'd pay this much for a book I'd expect it to be wider.

Over 100 full-page patterns, Ingenious & useful designs

This book presents an ingenious, useful and impressive design concept for the woodworker. It is a central spiral cut collapsible basket supported in a frame that can be cut in countless designs.
These baskets are made from a single piece of �" hardwood. There are instructions for the bandsaw or scroll saw. Over 100 full page patterns are provided and the size can be adjusted by enlarging or reducing the pattern.
Patterns include farm & wild animals, dinosaurs, teddy bears, people, vehicles, buildings and traditional baskets. Many more designs could be easily adapted to the basic basket technique.
The baskets can be used as candy or trinket dishes and are wonderful with decorative floral arrangements. They collapse for storage or use as a trivet and make great gifts.

Mohammad Shenasa, Attending Physician, Department of Cardiovascular Services, O'Connor Hospital, Heart & Rhythm Medical Group, San Jose, California, USA,A. John Camm, Professor of Clinical Cardiology, Department of Clinical Sciences, St. George's and University of London , London, UK

Professor John Camm qualified in 1971. He worked at Guy's Hospital before working at St. Bartholomew's Hospital, London. In 1986 he moved to St. George's Hospital Medical School in London as Professor of Clinical Cardiology (British Heart Foundation). Professor Camm was elected the Chairman of Medicine in October 1990, a post rotated from in 1995. He is now the Chairman of the Division of Cardiac and Vascular Sciences at St. George's University of London. His major speciality is cardiac arrhythmias but he is also much involved in clinical cardiac electrophysiology, cardiac pacemakers, risk stratification in post myocardial infarction, heart failure and cardiomyopathy patients. He has a major interest in cardiovascular safety of cardiac and non-cardiac drugs. John has given over 1500 lectures to national and international audiences, written more than 1000 peer review papers and over 250 detailed reviews. He has authored and edited numerous books.

Excellent Book for Men

I highly recommend this book for either individual use or for men's groups. The study questions at the end of chapters are great for facilitating discussion in men's groups. The cost is quite high (if purchased new) but worth it...try and find it used on Amazon.

Very worthwhile reading--insightful and provocative.

I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. The author demonstrates remarkable insight into the challenges facing a man and his struggles. The author's discussion of the various "masks" of men is obviously the result of the author's working through these issues in his own life. The books contains an insightful discussion which allowed me to gain additional insight into myself. I would encourage all men who are interested in understanding themselves better to read this book.
